est presented with $4,000 grant

On Sept. 28, representatives from Holt Cat and the Caterpillar Dealer Excellence Fund visited the Automotive Technology Academy (ATA) and presented a $4,000 grant to the Electrical Systems Technology(EST) magnet program.

Holt Cat donated $2,000 and the Fund matched that donation for a total gift of $4,000 for the EST program. Steve Albert, EST director, will use the funds for curriculum and training needs for the program's students.

These industry experts are strong supporters of the career development and training that NEISD provides its students through its various magnet schools and programs. A tour of ATA was provided so that the guests could see the state-of-the-art facility firsthand.

The Caterpillar Dealer Excellence Fund is a partnership between the Caterpillar Foundation, Americans Distribution Services, participating dealers, and eligible secondary/post-secondary schools. the Objectives are to strengthen curriculum and faculty development, and to increase the pool of qualified service technicians to foreseeable product support needs.
