VIDEO: Children at Risk releases list of top schools

NEISD has been recognized as the district with more schools on the Children at Risk list of elite academic learning institutions. Children at Risk is a nonprofit organization that works to "improve the quality of life for children through research, collaboration, and advocacy."

At a press conference at the Young Women's Leadership Academy, Dr. Bob Sanborn, president and CEO of Children at Risk, awarded leaders from each school a certificate for their achievements.

Researchers looked at test scores, poverty rates, graduation rates, and reading/math gains among other indicators. They ranked a total of 485 schools in the San Antonio area. The top 10 high schools and top five elementary and middle schools were recognized at the event.
