Castle Hills students excel at Tournament

Castle Hills Elementary School students recently competed in the Destination Imagination Tournament. Some of the successes earned has garnered an opportunity for students to compete in the state competition on April 14.

The fifth grade team (the DI Dominators) won third place in the Improvisation Challenge. Team members include: Sydney Weber, Makayla Johnson, Ashleigh Harris, Taylor Crow, Hailey Dryzmalia, and Natalie Clare.

The fourth grade team (the Ginger Elves) came in first place in the Engineering Challenge and will compete at the State competition in April. Team members include: Angelina Bernal, Sophie Bengoechea, Yancy Ferraro, Lily Fernandez, Elizabeth Polhamus, Kaylin Peters, and Jacqueline Squire. In addition, the fourth grade team was awarded the highly prestigious Da Vinci award, which is named to honor one the world’s greatest creative thinkers, Leonardo Da Vinci. The award is given to a team who most clearly demonstrates the spirit of adventurous risk in their solution--those who most creatively traveled to reach new and unique destinations.
