Bush Orchestra hosts parent recital
Normally, it's the parents in the audience watching their child perform during school recitals. Bush Middle School switched things up and had the parents perform in the school's first Parent Recital.
Parents who wanted to know what it was like to play their child's violin, viola, cello or bass were able to learn from Bush Orchestra Director Christy Newman. She taught the parents to play their child's instrument during five evening classes. The parents then took lessons from their child at home.
Newman says this helps families bond and gives parents more appreciation for the student's hard work.
They performed in the first Parent Recital May 13. The children were in the audience for the performance.
