Texas PTA awards Life Memberships at bulverde creek
Four people from Bulverde Creek Elementary School were made Honorary Life Members at the PTAs Founders' Day Celebration on Feb. 10.
Since 1909, the Texas PTA has made available the honorary Texas PTA Life Membership award as one of the highest honors that can be presented to individuals for outstanding service to children and youth of Texas.
The Life Member Committee selected four people from Bulverde Creek Elementary who are all deeply dedicated to the school.
Renee Gamez has served in numerous positions on the PTA board to include 1st Vice President, Parliamentarian, and Sister School Chair. She played a significant role in organizing the Fall Fair for the past two years. She has been a Room Representative for five years.
Leanne Pope has been on the PTA board as 2nd Vice President, Box Top Chair, and now the Webmaster for the newly designed PTA website for Bulverde Creek. She has been the Fall Fair Chair and also helped organize the games this year, and served as Room Representative for five years.
Melissa Rangel has been on the PTA board for the past four years. She has served as the Spirit Chair for two years, Secretary for two years, has been in charge of the Silent Auction for the Fall Fair for the past three years, and has been a Room Representative for five years at Bulverde Creek.
Steve McCarthy, Bulverde Creek Assistant Principal, has been a dedicated educator for more than 20 years. He taught at Redland Oaks and Huebner elementary schools. He has been an assistant principal at Longs Creek, Larkspur, and Castle Hills elementary schools. He moved to Bulverde Creek in August 2011.
