bradley welcomes speaker of the house joe straus

On Dec. 11, Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives Joe Straus visited students and staff at Bradley Middle School. He was treated to a performance by the school's jazz band, and sat in on a Pre-AP History class. Afterward, he took a student-led tour of the Mill Springs Cabin Program located on the campus.

Among the guests joining him were Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, NEISD Board of Trustees Secretary Sandy Hughey, board members Shannon Grona and Jim Wheat, Associate Superintendent of Operations Ron Clary and Bradley Principal Justin Oxley.

It was a great opportunity for Straus to see a successful public school program in action, while students had the opportunity to extend their learning of government leaders by meeting and talking to a current member of the Texas Legislature.
