bradley student goes to state in geography bee
Eighth-grade Bradley Middle School student Ethan Gurwitz has been chosen by the National Geographic Society as a semifinalist eligible to compete in the 2014 Texas State Geographic Bee. Ethan is the only student from North East ISD to qualify and is one of two students in San Antonio.
This is the second level of the National Geographic Bee competition, which is now in its 26th year. Bees were held in schools with fourth- through eighth-grade students throughout the state to determine each school’s winner. School-level winners then took a qualifying test, which they submitted to the National Geographic Society.
The National Geographic Society invited the students with the top 100 scores in Texas to compete at the state level. The 2014 Texas State Geographic Bee will be held at the Pat May Center in Bedford, Texas, on Friday, April 4, 2014.
Bradley eighth-grader Ethan Gurwitz is congratulated by Principal Justin Oxley. He will represent the school as a semifinalist in the 2014 Texas State Geographic Bee.
