Ace students volunteer at special olympics

Studenct from The Academy of Creative Education (ACE) volunteered to work with students at the NEISD Special Olympics on Friday, Mar. 8.

Ten students, along with teachers Wade Larson and Sandra McClure, worked alongside the Special Olympics athletes during the events.

As part of the requirements at ACE, all students complete six hours of community service.

For many years, students at the Academy have participated with NEISD Special Olympics by assisting athletes onto the podium and announcing their achievements.

This year, many of our students were assigned a Special Olympian buddy and assisted their buddies during each event. In addition, those that did not have a buddy continued with our tradition of announcing the athletes' achievements.
