Battle of Flowers: NEISD shines at band festival

The Battle of Flowers Band Festival is a Fiesta favorite for many across the city. It's a unique event that highlights bands from the entire area in one magnificent show. This year, NEISD had three bands perform: Roosevelt, Churchill, and Lee high schools.

The 76th annual Battle of Flowers Band Festival showcased 30 high school bands from San Antonio, Poteet, and the University of Texas Pep Band at Comalander Stadium. Fiesta Royalty and Dignitaries were also presented. This year's theme was "The Magic of Make Believe."
The crowdwas treated to the Massed Band Presentation Finale featuring all the bands performing "Land of Make Believe" by Chuck Mangione and "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly. A fireworks show ended the evening.
Churchill High School was a feature band for the night.
