North east ISD competes in 2013 Water Safety Olympics

The North East ISD team had their game faces on as they competed in the 2013 Water Safety Olympics at SeaWorld’s Waterpark™ on May 22. With the games being held at the waterpark’s latest addition—Aquatica—it was fitting to have individuals from NEISD Aquatics in the team. Led by Team Captain David Johnson—Bill Spurgeon, Tracy Spurgeon, Jenna Johnson and Rene Rodriguez won second place out of five competitors.

May is National Water Safety Month and the San Antonio Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark™ teamed together to make this event possible. The North East ISD team participated in several waterpark relays like the Dolphin Relay, Sting Ray Falls and Walhallaaaaa.
