NEISD Celebrates teacher appreciation week
“You can’t stop a teacher when they want to do something. They just do it.” – J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
Long before Nike began promoting their motto, “Just do it,” teachers have been pushing aside mountains of obstacles just to educate the minds of children. It’s that unyielding spirit that we celebrate during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6-10.
“Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to recognize teachers' work and listen to their perspective on ways we can continue improving our schools and views of the teaching profession,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan in a recent released statement.
“Teachers at North East ISD go above and beyond in continuing the district’s Tradition of Excellence every day," said Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, superintendent of school. "They give 100 percent to ensure their students’ success and rarely receive the credit they deserve. Join me in extending appreciation for all they do."
During this week, take a moment to say thank you to your teachers for the time, energy and relentless effort they give in the name of helping students achieve.
Many schools at North East ISD are celebrating the week in their own way. For instance, Dellview Elementary School set up a popcorn bar for the faculty and staff to enjoy on May 7.
