North East Resource center celebrates reopening
(L to R) Patti Jo Rushing (North East Resource Center), Brian G. Gottardy, superintendent of schools, Board of Trustee President Susan Galindo, Trustee Shannon Grona and Library Services Director Faye Hagerty participate in ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The North East ISD Resource Center held a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its renovated facility in the Richard A. Middleton Education Center (RAMEC) on Oct. 14. Hosted by Library Services Director Faye Hagerty and her fellow staff members, the grand reopening gave employees the opportunity to find out what the renovated center has to offer.
A major change to the resource center is the addition of a teacher supplies store located in the front of the facility. From grading calculators to alphabet borders, teachers will have a variety of supplies available for purchase. The back area of the center will continue to serve as a work area where teachers can bring their ideas to life for students in the classroom.
Faye Hagerty thanked district leadership, staff and construction management for their support and efforts in making the proposed changes to the North East Resource Center a reality.
The renovation brings with it new hours, making the resource center more accessible for teachers. The new hours are:
- Monday - Wednesday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- Friday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday (3rd of each month) 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Library Services staff gather for a group photo in celebration of the grand reopening.
