NEISd offers USDA summer food service program

North East ISD will sponsor the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program, providing free lunches to children 18 years of age and younger.

“As we approach the end of the traditional school year, we are working to assure that free lunches don’t end when the school doors close," said Meg Domas, executive director of NEISD School Nutrition Services. "These summer meals will provide the same nutrition that our students receive throughout the year through the National School Lunch Program.”

Children do not have to sign up for meals and may simply come to the site during the appropriate times. Regulations require that meals must be eaten at the lunch site. Accompanying adults may be asked to show identification.
