2013 Skills USA State Competition Results
Below are the phenomenal results of the MacArthur High School Electrical Systems Technology students, who competed in the Skills USA State competition in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 6-7. The students were focused, worked hard, and came home winners.
For the first time ever, in the programs history, we had one of our lady participants, Sabrina Levingston, finish 3rd in the very challenging Industrial Motor Control skills wiring competition. This competition has a written code test as well as a 6 hour wiring challenge.
Lizeth Garcia and Vanessa Ruelas teamed up to win Best of Show with their heart shaped Motor Control wiring project.
Other Best of Show winners were Stephen Gillenwater with his Residential Wiring project (single) and Adrian Arguello and Luis Montenegro with their Residential Wiring project (multiple).
Matthew Swaim earned 3rd place in the Residential wiring skills competition while Michael Ybarra, Jesus Madera and Nicholas Serratoz, took Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively in the National Electrical Code test.
State Superior Electrical Project winners were:
Gary Brimble and Michael Ybarra, Nicholas Serratoz and Jesse Villa, Kelly Kifer and Michael Guerra, Emilio Rivas and Joseph James, Matthew Swaim and Nathan Warren, Nathan Tibbit and Jonah Morales, Samuel Whittlinger and David Kissinger and Jose Barragon and Abdul Moosani.
After the competitions were over, the students enjoyed a little R and R by playing beach volleyball, basketball, swimming and walking on the beach.
