neisd students spotlighted at board meeting
Two outstanding students from Garner Middle School were invited to begin the Regular Board of Trustee Meeting of the North East ISD on September 10, 2012.
Eighth-grade students Lina Forero and Mia Self shared an inspirational message and lead the Pledge of Allegiance for board members, executive staff and guests in attendance.
They were introduced by their Principal David Crowe and accompanied by their parents Lynette Forero and David Self.
Lina is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Advanced Theater Group, choir and participates in athletics. Mia is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, FCA, AVID, choir and participates in athletics.
They were presented with a certificate from board member Jim Wheat for their participation at the meeting and for their outstanding achievements.
Other students spotlighted at the board meeting where a talented bunch from Castle Hills Elementary School. The school is putting on its 7th annual production. This year, they are presenting the musical "Wonderland" which will be held Sept 27 and 28 and Nimitz Middle School. More than 100 students are participating.
Characters in the show, in full costume, came to deliver personal invitations to Superintendent of Schools Brian G. Gottardy and the NEISD Board of Trustees.
