North East ISD Honor Bands Advance

Musician

Hours of practicing paid off for North East ISD middle schools at the Region 12 Honor Band Competition with several bands advancing to Area competition. Capturing first and second place in Class 3C respectively, was Bradley Middle School directed by Emily Gurwitz and Bush Middle School directed by Gabriel Rosas. In the Class 2C, Jackson Middle School, directed by Kim Rosenberg, took first place and will also be heading to Area competition.

Texas Music Educators Association’s (TMEA) Honor Band Competition dates back to 1958 and has brought out the best in band directors and their student musicians ever since. The number of NEISD schools moving on to Area competition highlights its 360 degree students and the overwhelming district and community support for music in education.

Area competition for North East ISD schools will take place on Thursday, June 27 at Canyon High School in New Braunfels.
