NEISD hosts health and wellness fair for community
TIME: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
LOCATION: Littleton Gym, Blossom athletic Center
North East ISD will hosts its annual Health and Wellness for the North East community on Oct. 13.
The fair is part of NEISD’s wellness initiative to provide a healthy environment throughout the district. To encourage families to be proactive about their health, the district has organized this fair to offer information and education on health care, diabetes education, asthma management, CHIP/Medicaid, heart health, nutrition, and many more related issues. Free health screenings will be offered, including Body Mass Index, vision/glaucoma checks, body fat percentage, and glucose. Flu shots will be offered free of charge to NEISD employees and for $27 to non-employees.
Vendors attending include: American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, BlueCrossBlueShield, CareLink/University Health System (UHS), Community First/CHIP, H-E-B, Humana Vision, Methodist Healthcare, San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, andthe San Antonio Food Bank.
UHS will have a mobile mammography bus on site for eligible employees and family members who sign up in advance. See flyer here for more details.
