NEISD Students get help paying for college

Paying for college is an obstacle many graduating seniors are facing this school year and two of North East ISD’s own will be getting help from Firstmark Credit Union (FMCU). Katharine Aoki of Lee High School and Cassidy Kempf of Johnson High School have been awarded a $1,000 scholarship each, as winners of the FMCU Scholarship program.

To earn the scholarship, the two seniors answered questions regarding high school activities, grades, and what their plans were for college once they graduate this June. Nearly 100 applications were received and ten winners were selected based on academic achievement, grade point average, character, leadership and personal recommendations.
