The Battle of Flowers Band Festival comes to NEISD
Since 1941, the Battle of the Bands, or officially named, the 75th Battle of Flowers® Band Festival has been held at Alamo Stadium. Due to construction at “the rock pile,” the band festival took place at Comalander Stadium on April 25—right in North East ISD's backyard.
The event is a big part of Fiesta week, taking place a day before the Battle of Flowers Parade, which runs through downtown San Antonio. Spectators were amazed by 3,000 high school musicians that took the field in the big finale. Madison, Reagan and MacArthur high schools showed off their skills at the Battle of the Bands and Johnson High School was one of three featured bands to perform their award-winning UIL show for the crowd.
This year’s theme for the band festival was “Celebrations!” and featured musical tributes to world festivals, heritages and anniversaries.

Bands will be marching down the track as they show off their skills to the crowd.
Bands were awarded trophies and awards for their performances during the event.
The fun-filled musical evening is undoubtedly one of Fiesta's most popular events.
