Grandfather Clauses for the 2012-13 School Year due to Boundary Changes

In December 2011, the North East ISD Board of Trustees approved the boundary changes for the opening of Las Lomas Elementary School (ES) and Vineyard Ranch ES. Letters were mailed out on January 23, 2012 to current 4th grade students affected by the boundary changes. There are four (4) different Grandfather Clause scenarios.

 

A. Canyon Ridge Grandfather Clause:

  • Any current 4th grade student and their siblings to attend Canyon Ridge ES in the 2012-13 school year may remain at Canyon Ridge ES for one year only (2012-13).
  • Transportation will not be provided to Canyon Ridge ES if electing to grandfather. Parents/Guardians will be responsible for transportation of their child(ren) if electing to remain at Canyon Ridge ES.
  • Grandfather valid only if residence remains the same.

 

B. Hardy Oak Grandfather Clause:

  • Any current 4th grade student and their siblings to attend Hardy Oak ES in the 2012-13 school year may remain at Hardy Oak ES for one year only (2012-13).
  • Transportation will not be provided to Hardy Oak ES if electing to grandfather. Parents/Guardians will be responsible for transportation of their child(ren) if electing to remain at Hardy Oak ES.
  • Grandfather is valid only if residence remains the same.

 

C. Stone Oak Grandfather Clause:

  • Any current 4th grade student and their siblings to attend Stone Oak ES in the 2012-13 may remain at Stone Oak ES for one year only (2012-13).
  • Transportation will not be provided to Stone Oak ES if electing to grandfather. Parents/Guardians will be responsible for transportation of their child(ren) if electing to remain at Stone Oak ES.
  • Grandfather is valid only if residence remains the same.

 

D. Wilderness Oak Grandfather Clause:

  • Any current 4th grade student and their siblings to attend Wilderness Oak ES in the 2012-13 may remain at Wilderness Oak ES for one year only (2012-13).
  • Transportation will not be provided to Wilderness Oak ES if electing to grandfather. Parents/Guardians will be responsible for transportation of their child(ren) if electing to remain at Wilderness Oak ES.
  • Grandfather is valid only if residence remains the same.

The Grandfather Application must be returned in person to the main office of their current campus no later than the end of business day February 24, 2012.
