Madison JROTC wins big at drill championships

On April 6, the Madison High School JROTC armed drill team, the Maverick Guard, and the unarmed drill team, and the Lady Maverick Guard, competed at the U.S. Army Cadet Command JROTC Army Nationals Drill Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Lady Maverick Guard, commanded by Cadet Major Melissa Kidder, placed 1st in regulation, 2nd in inspection, and won 3rd place overall. The Maverick Guard, commanded by Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Jordan Choate, placed 1st in Inspection, 2nd in Color Guard, 4th in Exhibition, and earned 2nd place overall, Runner Up Champions.

Both drill teams from the Maverick Battalion earned their way to the All Service Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida, being held on May 5-6.
