MacArthur celebrates homecoming week
MacArthur High School is celebrating homecoming Sept. 30 - Oct. 4. Students and faculty will participate in spirit week theme days. Everyone can show their patriotism on ‘Merica Monday, wear their tackiest tourist garb on Tacky Tourist Tuesday, dress their favorite decade on Way Back Whens-day, impersonate their favorite TV character on Thru the TV Thursday, and finish off the week by wearing blue and white for Fight Churchill Friday.
Collin Christian is excited about hearing his fellow classmates cheering him on at homecoming.
MacArthur students have nominated their 2013-2014 homecoming court, but beyond the glitter of crowns and school spirit, is a much more important message about MacArthur pride. Included among the MacArthur Senior Princes, is Collin Christian, an ALE student. Collin’s positive attitude and impact on students and staff have shattered any preconceived notions about disability. "This bond among students speaks volumes about the caliber of human beings attending MacArthur," said Carolyn Karger, Student council sponsor. "He really has been embraced by all students.”
The Homecoming football game against Churchill will take place at Comalander Stadium on Friday, October 4, at 7:30 p.m. During halftime, the homecoming court will be introduced and the king and queen crowned. The Homecoming dance, “Sights to See, Memories to Be”, will be held on Saturday, October 5 at BAC’s Littleton Gymnasium from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.
Special recognition to our MacArthur Student Council for providing such a wonderful week for all involved!
