Macarthur kicks off library week in a superhero fashion

To celebrate the beginning of National Library Week MacArthur High School Librarian Marcy Lindsey, Library Secretary Johanna Egert, and Social Studies teacher Janelle Richard wore comic book high heels on Monday, April 15.

These fancy shoes are the artistic vision of Ms. Egert, who used recycled comic books and Mod Podge to create her intricate designs. The shoes have been a great discussion starter with students to remind them about events during National Library Week.

On April 17 MacArthur High School will have a representative from Tobin Library present on campus so students may obtain public library cards. The library will also have a “Fine Amnesty Day” on April 18, where students presenting their school ID have the opportunity to clear their library fines.

The shoes appear to be a hit with students and faculty and they are a great way to remind everyone that the MacArthur Library is here for them.
