Lopez Reading initiative a big success
Lopez Middle School has been “Going the Distance," as they work toward their goal of reading 50,000,000 words! Students in all grade levels have been reading and recording their accomplishments each month.
The entire campus has been involved as each core subject picked up a different genre to showcase for a few minutes each month. Students have been sporting their READ 25 bracelets around school and talking to their friends about the exciting books they have read.
School librarian, Roxanne Jenke, along with the READ 25 committee recently played host to a book and breakfast in the library to reward students for their hard work. Students were able to choose a book to take home and enjoyed donuts and orange juice.
