Lee Speech and debate teams take top honors in Austin
The Lee High School Debate and Speech teams took top honors at this year's Cougar Classic Speech and Debate Tournament at Connally High School in Austin, Nov. 15-16. Months of preperation and practice paid off as many of the students went home with top honors.
Skye McDonald took first place in Dramatic Interpretation. The junior also teamed up with Stephen Lopez to earn first place in duet acting. Angel Trevino demonstrated his acting prowess by leaving with Best Performer/Actor of the tournament. Senior Cosmo Albrecht dominated the non-theatrical portion of the tournament, winning first place in Extemporaneous Speech (International Issues). Albrecht also took top Lincoln Douglas speaker (logic, eithical values, and philosophy) and claimed the title of Best Overall Public Speaker.
