larkspur students fuel up
Students enjoy the great taste of yogurt, berries and granola.
Who said yogurt is only for adults? After today’s sweet surprise at the Larkspur cafeteria, many students might have a new appreciation for this fermented milk product. With the help of Fuel Up to Play 60, a program founded by the National Dairy Council and NFL, in collaboration with USDA, Larkspur Elementary was able to hand out a yogurt treat for all students.
“We want to continue to promote healthy habits," said Susan Del Toro, principal at Larkspur. "We also want our students to experience a healthy snack alternative."
The creamy and cool snack was generously topped off with a fresh berry mixture and for good measure it was delightfully sprinkled with some crunchy granola.
Fuel Up to Play 60 has teamed up with Larkspur Elementary to help improve nutrition, community involvement, and exercise routines. The program promotes and empowers students to take charge in making small, everyday changes at school.
