Krueger hosts falcon family game night sponsored by city year
DATE:
Dec. 8
TIME: 6-8 pm
LOCATION: Cafeteria, Krueger ms, 438 lanark
The purpose of Family Game Night is to provide an outlet for families to spend time learning and having fun together in a constructive manner. We believe that parent involvement is crucial to the development and well-being of young students.
Middle school is a transition period for most students and can also be a time when parent/child relationships become challenging. Through Family Game Night, we hope to provide an opportunity for families to spend time together, while reinforcing the importance of education.
Snacks will be provided to attendees, and pizza will be available for the first 50 guests.
Activities will include a math-themed cake walk, an “Are you smarter than your middle-schooler?” competition, education-themed charades, City Year trivia, a toilet-paper costume competition, and assorted board games (e.g. Monopoly and Bananagrams).
A variety of activities will be offered throughout the evening. For the first part of the evening, participants will be encouraged to mingle and visit the game stations throughout the cafeteria. At 6:20 p.m., we will encourage everyone to participate together in the Spelling Relay and Toilet Paper Runway Show. Other games will continue for those who are not interested in the Relay and Runway Show. After the Runway Show, participants will have more time to mingle and play games. At 7:20 p.m., we will again come together for the second event of the evening: the Math Cake Walk. Other games will continue for those who are not interested in the Cake Walk.
