Johnson band brings great music to Rose Parade
The Johnson High School band has earned numerous accolades in just five years.
The 250 members in the Johnson High School Marching Band came back to school from the winter break with plenty of great stories to tell. All the hours of practice and dedication paid off as they brought a memorable performance to Pasadena, Calif. at the 2014 Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. Johnson, along with 19 other top notch band programs, showed off their musical prowess in the televised event that preceded the Rose Bowl.
With plenty of Johnson band supporters in attendance and even more watching on TV, there was plenty of enthusiasm to go around. The Rose Parade dates back to 1890 and Johnson has earned the honor of being one of three San Antonio bands to march the parade. Churchill High School high-stepped their way through the parade in 2005 and Marshall High School brought the noise in 1977.
