johnson volleyball teams walks for diabetes cure

On Sunday, Oct. 21, the Johnson Volleyball Team took part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation(JDRF) 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes & 5K Run/Walk. A large group of Johnson players and coaches completed the 5K walk around the downtown area and ending at the Alamodome.

The Johnson Volleyball team wore t-shirts to support Claire Koskie, a type 1 diabetic and sophomore on the Johnson Varsity Volleyball Team.

The Walk to Cure Diabetes is one of the JDRF South Central Texas Chapter’s main fundraising events of the year raising more than $700,000 for diabetes research toward finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. The Walk Day is a celebration of the hard work of all the Family and Corporate Teams that fundraise the months before the walk.
