Jackson Band goes to State in Honor Band Competition
On Thursday, June 27, 2013, the Jackson Middle School Band under the direction of Kim Rosenberg ranked 1st at the TMEA Area Honor Band Competition and now moves on to the TMEA State Honor Band Competition.
The Honor Band Competition is a three step process. At the Region level, a panel of 5 judges selected two bands from each of 4 regions to the Area competition in Austin. At the Area competition, Jackson ranked 1st out of the 8 region finalists and was one of two bands selected by a panel of 5 judges to the State competition. The State competition will take place on Sunday, July 21 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention center in San Antonio in conjunction with the Texas Band Masters Association Annual Clinic and Convention.
Congratulations also goes to Bradley Middle School under the direction of Emily Gurwitz and Bush Middle School under the direction of Gabe Rosas for ranking 1st and 2nd respectively in 3C at the region level and for selection to the area competition.
