ISA Interact awarded 3rd place in SA Graffiti wipeout
The Interact Club at the International School of the Americas recently learned that their participation in the 2013 San Antonio Graffiti Wipeout ranked 3rd in the city for number of participants by an outside agency. They received a plaque from the city.
Interact is an international service organization affiliated with Rotary International. The chapter at ISA is sponsored by Oak Hills Rotary and has been continuously operating at ISA since 1999. Last year the club documented over 2000 hours of service to the community, involving over 200 students, teachers, and parents. Traditionally, about half the 475 students at ISA will participate in a service activity with the club during a single year. The club was awarded a Presidential Citation from the Interact organization last year. One project they coordinate is a U.S. State Department exchange of high school students from Central America, who visit San Antonio and stay in the homes of host families for 5 days each Spring.
