pancake Dinner: ISA students raise money for humanitarian effort
TIME: 5 - 7:30 pm
LOCATION: Cafeteria, Lee HS, 1400 Jackson Keller
The International School of the Americas’ Model United Nations San Antonio (MUNSA) program will be hosting its annual Pancake Dinner in the Lee High School cafeteria on November 9, from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Lee High School is located at 1400 Jackson Keller Rd, San Antonio, TX 78213. Meal tickets will cost $5.00 apiece. The Pancake Dinner is made possible by donations from the Rotary Club of San Antonio.
Proceeds from the event will support the International Justice Mission (IJM), a human rights agency working to eradicate slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression. Each year MUNSA partners with a NGO whose humanitarian efforts correlate with the theme of the conference. Hosted at Trinity University from January 8-10, 2014, this year’s conference, entitled MUNSA XVIII: Odyssey, focuses on the international theme of human migration.
The goal for this year’s conference is to raise $4,500 for IJM.
Now in its eighteenth year, MUNSA is the largest student-run Model United Nations conference held in the western United States, with over 1,000 participants from the San Antonio area, the state of Texas, the United States of America, and Mexico.
