Garner's living museum showcases life during victorian era
The Garner Middle School campus librarian, Janie Flores, coordinated the seventh grade Theater Arts classes to prepare one-minute vignettes to showcase life during the Victorian Era in order to provide background information before the 7th grade PreAP English students read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
This cross-curricular exhibit highlights some of the key elements of the Victorian Era that are most difficult for the modern students to understand. Even the Home Economics teacher contributed to the Living Museum by baking Victorian treats to distribute during one of the stations. Literally bringing these scenes to life will help the students understand the hardships people faced and will illuminate the stark contrasts between the wealthy and poor.
Christian Moyers, Miranda Guajardo and Bradley Bruno truly enjoyed the learning experience.
Sporting old school flatcaps, Connor Wiley, Ethan S. and Michael Ellis get into character.
Sarah Clamp of Garner enjoys wearing her Victorian Era gown.
