The students at Fox Run Elementary School had the chance to do something they don’t normally get to do in the school library – get loud! The five kindergarten classes had a lot to cheer about as one of their favorite teachers was to be recognized by radio personality Dave Rios of KONO 101.1 and his trusty mascot, Top Dog on Nov. 21. Kindergarten teacher, Gina Kosa, was surprised when she was called up to receive a $100 check as KONO’s Teacher of the Week.

Kosa was nominated by one of her students, Mia-Elizabeth Vasquez. “I nominated her because she teaches me everything,” said Mia-Elizabeth, as she was interviewed by Rios.

The students not only had the opportunity to cheer for their Teacher of the Week, they also enjoyed a reading of the book, “Bear Says Thanks.” Rios used his charismatic voice to entertain the children from the first page to the last page.
