Encino Park Presents "You're a good man, charlie brown"
TIME: May 10 (7:00 pm), May 11 (2:00 pm & 7:00 pm)
LOCATION: Auditorium, Encino Park ES, 2550 Encino RIo
The Encino Park Elementary Music Department is preparing for this year’s all-school musical performances of "You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown." Forty one enthusiastic 1st – 5th grade students will be performing this musical during three shows, May 10th and 11th. The performers, directors, production crew/volunteers are eager to bring this musical to the whole community.
The Encino Park Elementary Music Department teachers Mrs. Cindy David and Mrs. Julie Phillips began auditions back in August 2012 and were overwhelmed with the large number of talented students that were interested. It was difficult to narrow the cast down to 34. The popularity of the school’s three previous musical productions, Beauty and the Beast, Jr., Fiddler on the Roof Jr. and The Wizard of Oz is one of the reasons for the influx of interest in performing in this year’s school musical.
The cast for "You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown" has been rehearsing every week since September 2012. For many this will be their first Broadway-style musical, while others are becoming “seasoned professionals”. Participating in a musical such as this brings a unique cross-curricular experience to the students.
Show times for the Encino Park Elementary Music Department’s presentation of "You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown" are as follows:
