El Dorado motivates students for Staar

With testing set to begin, El Dorado Elementary School motivated students for STAAR on April 1 with a STAAR pep rally. The school presented the "All STAAR Remix" video, which featured students performing two popular songs.

Students changed a few lyrics to 'Glad You Came' by The Wanted—singing, "I won't forget to use my strategies. So let's go in there and just do this thing, you and me." El Dorado also created a Harlem Shake video titled, "Do the STAAR Shake." The El Dorado Mustang macot showed off his dance moves with students, executive staff, and teachers during the song.

At the end of the video, students were surprised to see NEISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian G. Gottardy and executive staff dance and cheer for the El Dorado Mustangs. There will be one more pep rally on April 19th for the students.

Last year's El Dorado STAAR video featured the song "I'm Sexy and I Know it," with students singing, "We'll pass the STAAR we know it." The video received more than 42,000 hits on YouTube.
