Ed White students win Lions Peace Poster Contest

Our World, Our Future.

Three Ed White Middle School students were declared winners in this year's Lions International - Windcrest Lions Club Annual Peace Poster Contest at an Award Ceremony in December at Ed White Middle School. The first, second and third place winners are Miriam Barboza, Enrique Gonzales, and Shamari Campbell, respectively. The winners received $100.00, $75.00, and $50.00 Gift Cards and Certificates of Achievement from members of the Windcrest Lions Club. The Lions also presented Certificates of Appreciation to 15 other Ed White students who participated in the Contest competition.

The winning posters were selected for their originality, artistic merit, and portrayal of the contest theme, "Our World, Our Future." Windcrest Lions Club President, Rick Jacques, said he was impressed by the expression and creativity of the students at Ed White. "It is obvious that these young people have strong ideas about what their future means to them," said Jacques. "I'm so proud that we were able to provide them with the opportunity to share their visions."

Lions International is the world's largest service club organization with 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs in 207 countries and geographic areas. In addition to its efforts toward conquering blindness, the organization has made a strong commitment to community service and helping youth throughout the world.
