Driscoll donates 6,008 pounds of food to the SA Food Bank
Driscoll Middle School students have done it again! The students are responsible for donating 6,008 lbs. worth of canned food items as well as contributing $535.00 to the San Antonio Food Bank! The school Wellness Committee and dedicated PALS have continued this important tradition by helping those in need this holiday season.
A competition was held among the grade levels which encouraged a little friendly competition. Donations were announced to the students on a daily basis with a winning grade level celebration. Our art students created poster size turkeys for each grade level. As money and cans were collected, the PALS added feathers to the grade level turkeys so students could keep track of their donations.
It was the 8th grade student body that was declared the winner! We are proud of all our Defenders that generously contributed canned food items and cash donations to the SA Food Bank before the Thanksgiving holiday. We are excited that we were able to provide 4,694 meals to our local South Texas community.
