Clear Spring Community Comes Together
Clear Spring has made it their mission to create positive connections amongst the campus and community.
“One of our goals at Clear Spring Elementary School is to deepen our relationships which in turn will strengthen our community. It’s a beautiful thing to see our fabulous families and staff communing at a function outside of school,” Clear Spring coach Michele May stated.
Over the Labor Day weekend more than 60 members of the Clear Spring Community attended a San Antonio Silver Stars basketball game. Staff, students and parents enjoyed each other’s company as they cheered for the silver and black.
Alma Lara, Silver Stars ticket sales manager, donated 100 tickets to the school. “I believe strong parent-community-school ties are essential for educating the whole child. This doesn’t just happen. You have to work at it, said Coach May.
Clear Spring is doing just that. The PTA has planned movie and zumba nights. Fun, Family, Fitness - a big success last year - will continue once a month.
“I’m thrilled to work at a school where social and emotional learning is just as important as academic,” said Coach May. When family-school bonds are formed an environment of acceptance and belongingness is created. That’s a win-win for everyone.
