Churchill student honored nationally by pbs

Churchill High School senior Emileigh Potter won "Most Inspiring Documentary" by PBS and Adobe's Project VoiceScape at a national award ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 15, 2011.

The Adobe Foundation's global signature philanthropy program Adobe Youth Voices and POV, public television's longest-running showcase for independent nonfiction films, held the award ceremony where Emileigh was awarded one of the top three coveted awards for her documentary " The Dreamer." The award-winning video took a look at the struggles that Bennie Veliz, the poster child for the DREAM Act, has encountered to fulfill her dream.

"I am so thrilled that Emileigh's hard work and dedication has really paid off," said Churchill video technology teacher Robin Grevelle-Morriss. "Emileigh has spent so many hours perfecting her documentary and making everything just right."
